ROVcone

The ROVcone system has been designed to meet demanding requirements for a lightweight unit delivering 10 kN push force and suitable for deployment on any work class ROV, trenching machine, or similar. It can also be used in seabed mode from a frame.

The system can be used for in situ testing (CPT and T-Bar) and push sampling in uncemented soils. It is ideal for route surveys, subsea developments, drill cuttings surveys, decommissioning surveys, and for locations which may be problematic for non-ROV conveyed systems to access.

Uniquely, the system can be operated with wire-free (acoustic) real-time communications between the penetrometer and the ROV which eliminates cabling, reduces snag hazards, and speeds up installation and removal to/from the ROV.

Pressuremeter Systems

In situ testing of soils and rocks is a key part of Bluefield’s services. As part of this strategy we include a pressuremeter capability as the optimum method to obtain high quality geotechnical parameters such as small strain stiffness in situ. We have used our 30 years experience of pressuremeter development and testing to develop a range of equipment. Our High Pressure Dilatometers (HPD) have now been in commercial operation for over 3 years during which time they have performed many hundreds of tests. Our full displacement (cone) pressuremeters are particularly robust and designed for easy replacement of consumable items such as membranes.

The equipment fully meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 22476 Parts 5,6 & 8 which cover pressuremeter testing and the equipment is compatible with similar equipment in the industry.
